About
Founded in 2025 by Alex Lescieux, this digital type foundry reflects his work as a designer. Born in Dunkirk and trained as a graphic designer in Paris and Strasbourg, he moved to Lausanne in 2017 to study at ECAL, where he earned a BA in Graphic Design and an MA in Type Design. The foundry has been based there ever since.
Since 2022, licenses had been handled exclusively via email. This platform was created to make the process more straightforward.
The typefaces are conceived as concrete tools for graphic communication. They embody a design philosophy rooted in clarity, honesty, attention to white space, and the belief that a strong visual identity can emerge from typography alone.
All Alex Lescieux fonts are available exclusively through this website.
In addition to the retail library, custom modifications of existing fonts are offered, as well as bespoke typefaces for clients who require tailored solutions.

Licensing Approach
Since larger organizations generally derive more value from the same typefaces than smaller ones, our licensing model is based on a simple principle. Licensing fees are linked to the size of the License Owner, measured by its total number of employees rather than the number of users, devices, installations, or website traffic.
Where the License Owner is part of a larger corporate group, Company Size includes the employees of the entire group, including parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliated entities.
The License Owner is always the end client — the organization that ultimately benefits from the use of the typeface — rather than the designer, agency, or other service provider working on the project.
Free trial fonts are available to test, evaluate, present, or pitch a project. Once a typeface is selected for final use, the appropriate license must be purchased in the name of the License Owner.
Third Parties
The first designer or studio working for the License Owner is covered by the License Owner’s license and may use the fonts to create work on its behalf.
If the License Owner wishes to allow additional third parties to access or use the fonts, a Subcontractor Add-On is required. This may include freelancers, agencies, external designers, developers, producers, printers, PR agencies, and other service providers working for the License Owner.
Brands
Brand is a distinct commercial brand, trade name, product line, or visual identity under which the License Owner offers products or services. A License Owner may operate one or more Brands. Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, each additional Brand requires its own license for each applicable License Type.
License Types
We offer various licensing options to meet different font usage needs:
Desktop
Allows installation of the font(s) to create printed and digital materials (documents, merchandise, signage, portfolios, etc.) for one Brand.
Social Media
Allows use on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) for one Brand. An additional video license is required for video content.
Logo & Wordmark
Allows use of the font(s) to create a logo or wordmark for one Brand. Under this license, fonts may be converted to outlines and modified for logo creation. A desktop license is required for stationery.
Video
Allows use of the font(s) in animated content, such as films, clips, advertisements, and streaming content, for one Brand. An additional Social Media license is required for social media video content.
Website
Allows use of the font(s) on one controlled web domain and its associated subdomains, including production, staging, development, testing, and preview environments, with no traffic limitations. A separate Website license is required for each additional controlled web domain.
App & Game
Allows embedding of the font(s) in one app or game (mobile, desktop, or web). A separate license is required for each additional app or game. Regional variants and platform-specific versions (such as iOS and Android) are considered a single application.
Payment
A designer or agency may make the payment on behalf of their client, but the license always belongs to the License Owner. The License Owner’s name is required during the purchase process.
The License Owner is responsible for selecting the appropriate employee tier. The available tiers are presented at the time of purchase and must reflect the actual Company Size.
Upgrades
If you exceed the scope of your current license, or if the Company Size of the License Owner grows beyond the employee tier originally covered by the license, you must obtain the appropriate license before continuing such use. If you wish to upgrade from a single style to the full font family, please reach out to us via email for further details.
Enterprise/Unlimited License
For organizations that prefer not to manage future upgrades related to Company Size growth, additional Brands, web domains, or applications, we also offer an Enterprise/Unlimited License.
Depending on the needs of the organization, this may include broader licensing coverage and other agreed-upon rights. Please get in touch for further information.
Large Organizations
If your company forms part of a larger corporate group, or if you are unsure how Company Size should be determined, we encourage you to get in touch.
We are happy to discuss tailored licensing solutions, Enterprise/Unlimited Licenses, and other specific licensing requirements, and to better understand your particular structure and needs.
We are also accustomed to working with companies that have procurement, compliance, vendor onboarding, and contractual requirements, including Master Service Agreements.
Trial Fonts
Selecting the right typeface can take time, which is why we offer free trial versions.
Trial fonts are intended for testing, evaluation, client presentations, and project proposals. They may not be used in final designs, published materials, or commercial projects without the appropriate license.
Our trial versions include the full character set, allowing you to properly test and present your work. Once a typeface is selected for final use, the appropriate license must be purchased in the name of the License Owner. Use of trial files is linked to the name and email address provided during the download process.
Students
For most students, purchasing font licenses for school projects is simply not realistic. Since educational work generally has no commercial client, students may use the available trial fonts for educational projects, self-initiated work, and student-led initiatives such as exhibitions, publications, portfolio projects, or promotional materials for student events. Such work may also be publicly presented and shared through websites, social media, presentations, and images of printed works.
If a project is created for a client, that client must obtain the appropriate license.
Any use beyond these conditions requires the appropriate license.
Discounts
We offer a 25% discount to non-profit organizations, as well as cultural and educational institutions. If you believe your organization may qualify, we would be happy to hear from you.
Customization
Our fonts are carefully developed and may not be modified. However, fonts may be converted to outlines and modified when creating logos or wordmarks under the Logo & Wordmark license. We also offer tailored adaptations, including special cuts, custom features, and additional characters.
Restrictions & Critical Uses
We are committed to how our typefaces are used. Any use of our fonts to promote hate, racism, or any form of discrimination is strictly prohibited.
Uses related to political campaigns, electoral communications, advocacy organizations, activist organizations, lobbying activities, or similar causes require prior written approval.
Refunds
All sales are final. Due to the nature of digital goods, fonts are non-returnable and non-refundable. If a font file is defective, please notify us by email within 30 days of purchase, and we will provide a suitable replacement. Refunds will not be issued for incorrect license purchases.
